The Tarheels are hosting the Pirates in a Super Regional this weekend. UNC split a pair of regular season games with ECU, and now the two teams face off in a best-of-three series for a spot in the College World Series.
It was refreshing to see shades of purple scattered throughout Boshamer Stadium.
After a close start, UNC rallied in the bottom of the 6th to score 7 runs, putting them up 9-1 over ECU. A solo homer from Kyle Seager in the bottom of the 8th put 10 on the board for UNC. Tarheel pitcher Alex White also had a career high 12 strikeouts, and allowed only one run for the Pirates.
Game two starts today at noon.
