Last Saturday (01/31/09), N.C. State hosted UNC at the RBC Center. UNC was the obvious favorite, and the score at halftime reaffirmed this. The Pack looked like a basketball team at times in the second half, once trimming the margin to only six points after trailing by almost 20 at the half. As the game clock approached the last 5 or 6 minutes of the game, the Pack lost their composure and began to make silly mistakes that quickly let the game get back out of reach. The final score was 76-93.
I worked that day, but we already had a sports reporter covering the game. It was my duty simply to go help with post-game interviews. He was handling the coaches in the press room and I had to bounce back and forth between both locker rooms in hopes of getting a few sound bytes from each team. Being a slow day, I showed up early to the game in hopes of shooting a bit of the game from the base line. Being a rivalry game, it was unlikely that I'd find a spot since there wasn't one saved for me. I managed to find an empty chair on press row and ended up watching the game from here. Not too shabby.
