Time Toy

Rob ordered one of these to use in his time lapse video of the Krispy Kreme challenge. He let me borrow it for a few days, and while I haven't had much opportunity to play with it, I certainly want one. The only thing I've had time to use it for was a 30 second exposure of the skyline from the Boylan Street Bridge. Now this remote has several features, the simplest of which being that is can act as a basic cable release. This is all I did with it, mainly to avoid camera shake. This is a very overdone shot that everyone has done, but it was a good way to kill a few minutes while working on a slow evening.

Despite having a bit of time between assignments and being extremely bored, I was able to occupy myself a bit with my camera. This is a $10,000 paper weight, according to my boss Mark. It is identical to the camera I shoot with on a daily basis, only this particular camera was the victim of a tragic fall. A photographer left the camera on the tripod and walked away. Something caused the tripod to tip forward, letting the camera fall lens first onto the ground. Basically the camera body was impaled by the lens, the entire structure surrounding the lens mount being compromised. Bummer.

This is just the side of the Subway down the street from the station. I feel less guilty (and less gross) after eating Subway than I do after visiting my longtime go-to food, Taco Bell.

I love that skyline pic. Can't wait to check out the pub to enjoy that view (and a few pints).
